Layout for Melodies – An unofficial solo variant

Melodies is a fanmade solo variant for the board game Harmonies, developed by Peter Schmähler.
The original game is designed by Johan Benvenuto with artwork by Maëva da Silva and is published by Libellud.

Melodies offers a way to enjoy Harmonies in solo mode by presenting specific scenarios as challenges.

I created the layout for this unofficial variant. To keep it visually consistent with the original rulebook, I followed its general style and structure. Except for the logo used on the cover page and one type of icon, all other design elements were recreated or reinterpreted by me to match the original aesthetic while respecting the rights of the original publisher. The photos of the cards were taken by Peter Schmähler.

I was immediately intrigued by Peter’s clever solo design for Harmonies. His original draft was a simple black-and-white document - but the idea had so much potential that I wanted to give it a layout worthy of the game's charm. I’m grateful I had the chance to bring his concept to life visually and create a design that feels connected to the original while giving the variant its own polished and inviting look.
